News from the Library
Digital Media Services....March 2006
Library demonstrates new standard for
Web video delivery for the college communities. The library's Digital
Access Team (DAT) in partnership with Loyola's Event Services have
produced a clip from last week's Terry Waite lecture, part of the
Humanities Symposium lectures. The library can encode digital video using
the latest Flash 8 codec, which allows streaming-style (usually no
waiting) access over simple http - the friendliest delivery protocol for
Web content. The library has just acquired the latest encoding
application from On2 technologies.
